Best place to train your dog. Very professional, very clean and wonderful people!

Very excited to start puppy program with my boy Paddy. Jason does a wonderful job working and training all the dogs. My daughter’s German Shepherd has finished all but the agility class and he just does so well for my nine year old granddaughter. You can’t go wrong with the best!🐾🐾

I’ve had Harley thru 3 different training classes, and each one taught me and Harley new skills. She’s a better dog for it.

Kimberly Edgar is exactly right. Brutus is a sweet doggie with no social skills when he arrived and by the time we left you just wouldn’t believe the change in him in one lesson.

We found Jason through friends and have had nothing but great experiences since taking our German Shepherd to him for training. After only two lessons my life is already much easier. Jason is very professional and highly experienced. It’s amazing to see how he gains control immediately and Minnie loves him.

After 1+ years I had to say goodbye to my best friend and loyal, imported GSD, Rowdy which I owned since 12 weeks of age. It was a very painful experience after training daily, bonding, long hikes and shared meals. But Rowdy had weak nerves and couldn’t process real from perceived threats. After the 3rd serious incident of biting, I returned Rowdy, under contract and without refund, to the breeder/importer. While looking for answers I met Jason Hawkins who took the time and effort to counsel me at length without expense. Jason helped me to see that this time it wasn’t the trainers (me) fault but genetics. VanBuren Shepherds became the best choice for me in selecting a new puppy. Jason guaranteed their puppies would not have problem issues due to their diligence in vetting lineage, and of course, Jason’s experience in evaluating puppies. I couldn’t believe how hard it was for me to replace a dog I loved so much. After 7 months I couldn’t be happier with the puppy Jason provided. Jason has a way with dogs. He’s incredibly passionate about what he does. 3rd class and already my hard headed pitty puppy is showing amazing improvement. Highly recommend checking him out.

We have a five year old GSD, Hotch, who we bought at the age of two. He is extremely aggresive and wants to attack everyone but my husband and me. With the two of us, he is a sweetheart but he doesn’t mind unless it is something he wants to do anyway. Our friends and family have begun to call him Cujo (1983 Stephen King movie), although they have never seen him. They have only heard him trying to get to them. Jason has done wonders with him. Hotch is now willing to let strangers in the same room. He has even accepted another dog in the room. He is also beginning his obedience training. This is a miracle. We are very happy with his training so far and can see that Jason understands Hotch’s triggers and how to let him understand he doesn’t have to attack anyone. We have owned many German Shepherds and worked with some of the top trainers in North America such as Pat Brown-John of Canada, and Ivan Balabanov. We are happier with Jason than anyone we have worked with. He understands dogs, reads their body language very well, knows what makes them react to certain situations, and how to remedy unwanted behavior.
We would recommend Jason to anyone.

Not only a great place to get various training, but the pups produced are outstanding, excellent breeder. We love our Sofie, she has a great personality. She wants to learn and at 7 months old has a real good on/off switch.We couldn’t be happier, and when we are ready for our next gsd this is where we will be going.

I have three GSDs (one from Jason’s litters) and my wife and I have been extremely impressed with Jason’s knowledge and love for training and breeding. Jason is a living “google” for any information about training. He is extremely thorough when it comes to breeding, and he is completely transparent about breeding, training, and boarding. Can’t recommend Jason and Vanburen shepherds enough.
